The Crimean crisis has given a new push for discussions on defense in Sweden and Finland. There's been a rising chorus of voices advocating for these two countries' full-fledged NATO membership, which would protect them from a potential Russian aggression. Last month the Swedish prime minister Jan Björklund publicly called for rethinking the defense strategy and entering the alliance.
