Is the world a less violent place?

Nowadays the newspapers write about violence everyday, and we see civil war and conflict on our screens every evening. You'd expect things are going from bad to worse in the world, right? And it's no surprise many people truly believe so.

Well, Steven Pinker, author of The Better Angels of Our Nature, would beg to differ. And if we're to look closer at his argument, we'd realize he might have a point.
